7 Tips to Keep Your Appliances Running Great!
Clean the Condenser Coils on Your Fridge
Clogged coils restrict air flow, which makes your fridge work harder.
Once or twice a year, use a coil cleaning brush and hand-held vacuum to suck any dust, dirt, or pet hair out of the coils.
Take Care of Your Dryer
The number one thing you can do to keep your dryer humming (and prevent fires) is to make sure you keep the lint trap clean.
You can use a brush like this one to clean out the lint trap
Also don’t forget to have your dryer vent cleaned on a regular basis as well, call the Dryer Vent Wizard and tell them Al’s sent you!
Clean Your Garbage Disposal
You can keep your disposal clean and smelling great by using this product from Affresh, you simply drop a tablet into the disposal with the water running and run the disposal to allow it to clean.
Wash Your Washer
Running your washer on a vinegar cleaning cycle or using a product like Affresh Washing Machine Cleaner will keep it clean and doing its job.
Also be sure to check your detergent drawer. If it’s caked with residue, pull it out and give it a proper cleaning.
Ensuring you stick to 1 oz of detergent per load will help prevent the buildup of soap.
Avoid Overloading Your Machine
Overloading your washer or dryer causes damage to motors, belts, and other moving parts by causing additional stress on the machine.
Don't Slam Your Doors!
If you continually drop or slam the lid to your washer or dryer (top or front load), you're going to break the lid/door switch or even worse the hinges themselves!
Clean Your Fridge Gaskets
Clean your door gasket with warm water and a sponge. You are able to use a mild detergent (e.g. Dawn, Palmolive, etc.) if needed.
If you keep your refrigerator door gaskets clean, they'll seal properly and last the life of the fridge.
